Computing
Our computing curriculum is designed using the National Centre for Computing Education scheme to ensure full coverage of the National Curriculum, while being carefully adapted to meet the developmental needs of pupils in Key Stage 1.
The curriculum is structured around three key strands:
- Computer Science
- Information Technology
- Digital Literacy
We intend for pupils to:
- Develop early understanding of sequencing, logic, and algorithms through Computational Thinking
- Use technology purposefully to create, organise, store, and retrieve digital content
- Communicate safely and respectfully using digital devices
- Build resilience and independence when solving problems
- Understand how to stay safe online and know how to seek help
The curriculum is ambitious for all learners and ensures progression in knowledge and skills from EYFS through to the end of Key Stage 1.
