Religious Education
At Higham Ferrers Nursery and Infants School, Religious Education (RE) helps children explore different beliefs, traditions, and ways of life. Through the use of stories, celebrations, and discussion, children learn to respect others, ask thoughtful questions, and reflect on their own ideas.
Religious Education reflects our vision of “Where little seeds grow into mighty trees.” We want every child to grow in curiosity about the world and develop an understanding of different religions and worldviews within a safe, caring, and inclusive environment.
Our RE curriculum is based on the Northamptonshire Agreed Syllabus for Religious Education 2025–2030 and is carefully planned so children build upon their knowledge step by step from Nursery through to Year 2.
During our RE lessons, children learn about Christianity and other religions worldviews represented in Britain today. They explore beliefs, traditions, and celebrations, and begin to recognise similarities and differences between people and communities.
We encourage children to explore, ask questions, and share their ideas. Through the teaching of RE, children continue to develop our core values of Trust, Respect and Empathy, alongside an understanding of British Values such as Mutual Respect, Tolerance, and Individual Liberty.
